IGI 6006-A is a unique
reduced pour wax that is both vegetable (soy) and paraffin in composition. IGI
6006-Awas originally manufactured by Dussek Campbell and then by BP under the
blend number 5766. Parasoy blends as they are called are gaining popularity in
the market as people feel they are the best of both worlds. IGI 6006-A exhibits
the appearance characteristics of a paraffin wax with the cleaner burning of a
soy candle. IGI 6006-A is capable of holding up to a 9-10% fragrance load and
exhibits excellent hot and cold scent throw. IGI 6006-A is a very soft wax which
is very easy to cut and comes in 10 pound slabs or in 60 pound cases with 6
slabs within. Although this is considered a reduced pour wax, it may be
necessary with very large or tall containers to do a small re-pour, the users
of this wax agree it's well worth the added effort! This wax has a very creamy
opaque appearance but will still color well to create dark or bright colors.
Excellent for the person wanting to start candle making for the first time or
the veteran candle maker looking to make a change!
Uses: IGI 6006 is for use in making container candles

Wax Type: IGI 6006-A is a paraffin & soy blend.

fading and chemical color change.
Instructions for use:
Heat wax to 180°-195
°. Once wax reaches desired temp, add your dye,
blend well then add fragrance and again blend well. This wax should be poured
between 165°-180° into heated containers and cooled as slow as possible for
optimal adhesion to glass and a smoother finished candle top.
*For jelly and mason jars
or other jars that are taller than they are wide, we recommend pouring the wax
at about 185°-190° into heated containers and cooling as slow as possible. The
increased pour temp will allow for more even cooling and less sink holes.
A MSDS for this product is
available in a printable format here.
For testing purposes, we offer for sale, 10 pound slabs or bags of wax.
*We can only offer recommendations as to what wax will perhaps work best for you but we cannot guarantee any certain wax to work best in any application because of the many variables involved. The only way to determine the appropriate wax selection is by experimentation. Test burning will be necessary to determine the best wax for your candles!
