EcoSoya has applied NEW Quantum Technology to a brand new series of wax!

The all new EcoSoya Q230 is an innovative plant-based wax that is designed specifically for molded candles such as pillar candles and votive candles. This wax is available in pastille form rather than flakes, for easy handling.

A wonderful replacement for those who have used EcoSoya Pillar Blend wax!

You will find that the new EcoSoya Quantum Series obtains the following characteristics:

* Sustainable, Renewable and Biodegradable
* Improved Scent throw
* Richer Color when Dyed
* Essentially nonpolymorphic (non-frosting)
* Increased Stability

This wax is Petroleum Free and Dermatology tested!

EcoSoya Q230 is not suitable for making container candles, but excellent results are achieved when using this wax for free standing pillar candles and votive candles. This wax has an excellent scent throw with both fragrances and essential oils and a creamy white appearance.

EcoSoya Q230 is made from pure 100% soybeans and carefully selected botanical oils. Candles made with Q230 have a soft creamy appearance, ships well in all climates, and a maximum fragrance load of 9% is possible.

EcoSoya Q230 Melt Point: 120F (Molded Candle Soy Wax)

Uses: Pillar candles, Votive Candles, Molded Wax Melts
Fragrance Load:
6% is considered idea but will hold up to 9%
Dye: Chip, Block, Flake, Powder
Wick Suggestions:
CD, ECO, HTP, RRD, Performa,
(Paper Core for votive candles)
Wax Type:
Soybean
Additive Suggestion:
Soy waxes are considered optimal as are.. You may want to however add UV Color Stabilizer to prevent fading and chemical color change.

Instructions for use:

Heat wax to 175-190*, add dye (liquid dyes are not recommended for use in soy wax but block, chips, flakes and powders make exceptional colorants for soy) and blend well, add fragrance and again blend well. We recommend adding scent between 160-175* for best results. Short term high temperatures (such as 190F) have no adverse effect on the wax, as long as the wax is quickly cooled down. Please note that temperatures higher than 190F may cause the wax to discolor.

Pour temperatures will vary according to mold type and size, fragrance and dye, and the effects you want to achieve. EcoSoya Q230 can be poured as low as 110 F (37.8 C) if the wax is kept in motion (constant mixing) until poured. There is a difference in cooling rates for different container configurations. Cooling too quickly or too slowly can cause concaving. Large molds in size cool slower and require lower pour temperatures, about 125F (51.7C) or lower. Smaller molds (less than 8 oz (237 ml)) cool fast, requiring a higher pour temperature of about 170F. If difficulties are experienced with your pour temperatures, try a lower or higher temperature in increments of 10F (6C).

Some waxes require tapping the mold while pouring to prevent bubbles, but EcoSoya Q230 does not produce bubbles when poured. Two pours may be required when using larger candle molds (such as a 3"-4" pillar). Pour the first measure of wax at 155F to fill the mold to the top and allow the candle to cool until it is warm with a congealed center and no liquid. When the top of the mold (bottom of the candle) has "skinned" over and left a void inside, poke two holes into the candle near the wick and pour a second time at 145F. Do not pour past the solidified wax of the first pour; in essence you are filling the first pour. Cool at room temperature.

*Pour temperatures should be checked and confirmed according to seasonal changes.

For testing purposes, we offer for sale, 10 pound bags of this wax.

*We can only offer recommendations as to what wax will perhaps work best for you but we cannot guarantee any certain wax to work best in any application because of the many variables involved. The only way to determine the appropriate wax selection is by experimentation. Test burning will be necessary to determine the best wax for your candles!

Was very unhappy with this wax. Purchased 10 lb sample and made a dozen Votives. Could not remove a single one from the tins, even after several hours in the freezer. I would never purchase this wax, again.
