Instructions for Making Tea Light Candles

  • 6.5 weight oz. IGI 4794 Votive Blend Wax
  • .40 weight oz. Fragrance
  • Dye if desired
  • 12 Tea Light Cups
  • 12 S-330 Tea Light Wicks

Heat the wax to 180° using a double boiler, Presto Kitchen Kettle, or commercial wax melter. Once the wax reaches 180°, add your dye & fragrance oil, and stir well. Pour into the tea light cups at 175°, until the wax reaches ¼” from the top. After pouring, place the wicks inside the tea light cups in the recessed center. Allow the wax to cool until it is solid yet pliable (about an hour) and re-center the wicks. Once the candle has completely cooled, you will need to heat the reserve wax up to 185° to top-off the candles, which will smooth out any shrinking that has occurred.
