IGI 4786 is an excellent pre-blend paraffin container wax. 4786 will require multiple pours to achieve level a surface. In most applications, allowing the candle to cool completely after the first pour and doing a second pour will yield a level candle surface. In extra large containers, a third pour may be necessary. Good adherence to container wall can be obtained under optimal pour conditions. This wax is suitable for hotter climates. As with all candles, you will need to protect against temperature fluctuations during transport and storage. 4786 will hold up to a 9% fragrance load and has excellent hot and cold scent throw. IGI 4786 has a smooth, creamy and opaque appearance and will have a matte finish.

IGI Paraflex 4786 Melt Point: 124F Container Pre-Blend Container Paraffin Wax. This wax will also work well for making wax melts, especially in our Clamshell packaging!

Uses: IGI 4786 can be used to make Container Candles, Tea Light Candles and Wax Melts.
Fragrance Load:
Up to 9% is possible.
Dye: Liquid, Chip, Block, Flake & Powder Dye can all be used in this wax
Wick Suggestions: Zinc, HTP, RRD, LX, Hemp, Performa, CD
Wax Type: IGI 4786 is a Blended Paraffin
Additive Suggestion: IGI 4786 has the optimal blend of additives already in the wax. You may want to however add UV Color Stabilizer to prevent fading and chemical color change.

Instructions for use:

Heat wax to 180-190. Once wax reaches desired temp, add your dye, blend well then add fragrance and again blend well. This wax should be poured between 175-185 into heated containers and cooled as slow as possible for optimal adhesion to glass and to minimize shrinking. It is advisable to poke relief holes around the wick of the candle once the wax has become solid but is still pliable.

After the first pour has cooled, reheat your reserved wax from your first pour and refill the void (sink hole) in the candle until you reach the level of the first pour. You will want your second pour to be 10 hotter than your first pour to minimize lines from the second pour. Repeat the re-pour process as necessary.

When using this wax for a plastic Clamshell Melt, be sure to cool the wax to 150 to no more than 160 to pour to avoid melting the packaging.

A MSDS for this product is available in a printable format here.

For testing purposes, we offer for sale, 10 pound slabs or bags of wax.

*We can only offer recommendations as to what wax will perhaps work best for you but we cannot guarantee any certain wax to work best in any application because of the many variables involved. The only way to determine the appropriate wax selection is by experimentation. Test burning will be necessary to determine the best wax for your candles!
