Kit includes:
* 1 slab (10 lbs) IGI 4630 Low Shrink Container Wax
* 1, 4lb. Pouring Pot
* 1 Glass Thermometer
* 12, 8 oz Jelly Jars
* 12 Plain Gold Lids
* 1 pack (100) 51-32-48 6" Zinc Wicks
* 1 pack (100) Wick Stickums
* 1 roll (100) Small Container Caution Labels
* 4 oz. Twigs & Berries Fragrance Oil
* 4 oz. MacIntosh Apple
* 1 pack (20) Burgundy Dye Chips
* 1 pack (20) Red Dye Chips

-Begin by weighing your desired amount of wax on a digital scale. To make 6 jelly jars, you will want to use 40 weight ounces of wax.

-Heat wax to 180-185*. Do not heat wax in the microwave or directly on the stove top. Always use either a Commercial Wax Melter, a Presto Kitchen Kettle or a Double Boiler to safely melt your wax.

-While your wax is heating, you will want to heat your jars. This can be done in any oven by placing the jars on a cookie sheet on the lowest oven setting pre-heated. This is around 200*. Place jars in the oven and warm for about 20 minutes.
-Place the wick stickum on the bottom of the metal wick tab, once the jars are to the correct temp, place the wick in the center of the jar and press down. Be careful, the jar will be very hot. A hollowed out pen or straw works well for this.
-Once wax reaches desired temp, add your dye (when using the Dye Chips 1 per lb. will make a pastel, two per lb will make a mid tone and 3 per lb will create a truer vibrant color), blend well then add fragrance and again blend well
-Now add your fragrance. We recommend using 1 weight oz of scent per weight pound of wax. In this case, you can figure out the amount by using this formula. This will work with any weight amount:
40 (the weight of the wax) x .0625 = 2.5 so for 6 jars you will want to use 2.5 weight oz of scent. You can weigh this in a glass or right into the pouring pot with the wax on a scale that has been tared. Blend well.
-The normal pour temp for this wax is 155-160 into heated glass but when using jelly jars, like in the kit, pour between 185-190 to prevent sink holes from occurring.
-Once the candles are cooled, trim the wicks to 1/4", adhere a warning label to the jar bottom and cure for at least 24 hours before burning.

*Yields approximately 27 candles (additional jars needed)
*Kit does not include a digital scale which is necessary for making candles.
